A marketing specialist, as I have chosen to define it, is responsible for managing the day-to-day implementation of an existing marketing plan, and coordinates various tasks associated with the plan. A marketing specialist is an ideal employee for small to mid-size company, where a diverse skill set is needed to cover multiple roles including, but not limited to, marketing manager, graphic designer, and photographer.
Sample responsibilities:
- Assists with the development, writing, and design of marketing plans, creative briefs, project recommendations, and presentations.
- Maintains and updates the company’s brand style guide; and ensures that all internally developed creative marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines.
- Assists with writing, editing, design and production of promotional literature, newsletters, direct marketing, email, advertising, and digital marketing projects.
- Manages project deliverables and reports on time, budget, and strategy execution.
- Manages workflow processes to increase the efficiency of the organization.
- Tracks and analyzes the response and engagement of marketing efforts, producing campaign analytics reports as required.
- Manages, monitors, and engages with communities on social media platforms on behalf of the company in accordance with a communication plan.
- Liaises with various internal teams and/or external clients to assist with projects and initiatives.
- Updates and maintains content for the company website, and works with vendors to develop added functionality.
- Assists with planning, logistics, and execution of marketing events.
- Manages outside vendors including advertisers, printers, designers and photographers.
- Assists with photography and videography as needed to support the communication efforts.
